This was about half of the egg, and after we ate, there was about a third of this left over.

Yeah, just over half a quart of egg.

This was the first hole we drilled - we actually had to make it wider afterwards to get any of the egg out.

We wanted to keep the eggshell. When you empty out a chicken egg, you poke it with a pin at the top and bottom and blow out the contents. With the emu egg, we had to use a drill.
